Court Stops Makadara ODM Elections

Political Parties Disputes Tribunal has now stopped the ODM party from conducting any delegates meeting and election of party grassroots official in Makadara constituency until case filed by Erick Otieno an ODM Party member are heard and determined.

The tribunal has ordered that the matter be heard 11th January 2022 at 2.30pm.

This means that Makaongeni MCA Peter Imwatok will remain the constituency chairman of ODM Makadara deputized by Viwandani MCA David Mbithi.

“THAT pending the hearing and determination of the application this Tribunal hereby issuesan interim order for Injunction to restrain the Respondent from cancelling or otherwise in any manner whatsoever from interfering with the list of officials from Makadara Constituency as elected on 1st December 2021.’’ The order reads.

“THAT pending the hearing and determination of the application this Tribunal hereby issues an interim order for injunction to restrain the Respondent’s National Elections Board from conducting a repeat grassroots election within Makadara Constituency.

“THAT the application be listed Inter partes hearing on 11th January 2022 at 2.30pm virtually via video link.’’ The order states.
