LSK President Faith Odhiambo Advocates for Mental Health Awareness at Jikaze Concert

September 8, 2024 — Law Society of Kenya (LSK) President Faith Odhiambo attended the Jikaze Concert, an event organized by Gospel Dynamite to raise awareness about mental health. Odhiambo emphasized the critical importance of addressing mental health issues, recognizing their profound impact on how individuals live and interact within society.
Speaking on her experience at the event, Odhiambo noted, “Mental health remains a crucial issue in society that is a major contributor to how we live and coexist with each other. Rightly so, we must be sensitive to our mental well-being and address any issues and illnesses with the seriousness they deserve.”
The concert, which combined entertainment with education, provided attendees with practical tools for evaluating their mental wellness. Participants were encouraged to assess their thoughts, feelings, judgment, and perceptions as a way to gauge their mental state. Odhiambo highlighted the importance of acknowledging when one is not okay and urged people to seek help without hesitation.
“The event was as insightful as it was entertaining,” Odhiambo added, reflecting on the balance of good vibes and music with the serious discussions surrounding mental health.
The Jikaze Concert serves as a reminder of the ongoing need to prioritize mental health in society, ensuring that individuals are equipped with the knowledge and resources to maintain their well-being.
