Richard Muteti Leads 4K MSE 2030 Initiative to Boost Innovation and Small Enterprise Growth
Enterprise development leader Richard Muteti, is championing the 4K MSE 2030 Initiative, a transformative program aimed at revolutionizing the micro and small enterprise (MSE) sector in East Africa.
As CEO of the Confederation of Micro and Small Enterprises Organisation East Africa and Chair of the COMESA Business Council SMEs Work-Group, Muteti is driving policies that empower small businesses through innovation, access to finance, and sustainable growth models.
Co-founded with Prof. Tom Ogada, Chair of Kenya National Innovation Agency (KeNIA) and Executive Director of ACTS, the initiative focuses on equipping MSEs with technology, strategic support, and stronger market competitiveness.
“Micro and small enterprises are the backbone of our economy. With the right support, they can drive job creation and industrialization,” Muteti said.
Through partnerships with KeNIA and ACTS, Muteti continues to advocate for MSE-friendly policies, fostering an ecosystem of innovation and entrepreneurship that aims to reshape East Africa’s economic future.
