Kajiado East MP Disburses Sh33 Million Bursaries to Support Over 6,100 Learners

Kajiado East Member of Parliament, Kakuta Ole Maimai, has disbursed bursaries worth Sh33 million from the National Government Constituencies Development Fund (NG-CDF), benefiting more than 6,100 students across the constituency.
Speaking during the issuance of bursaries in Kitengela Ward, the MP emphasized that the process was conducted fairly and transparently, with beneficiaries drawn from every location within the five wards of the constituency.
Kitengela Ward, which is the most densely populated, received the largest share—Sh5.97 million for secondary school students and Sh5.86 million for those in tertiary and university institutions. Oloosirkon-Sholinke Ward received Sh1.2 million for secondary education and Sh925,000 for higher education students.
“I continue to insist on due diligence in selecting beneficiaries to ensure the neediest students are prioritized. If there are any complaints about the bursary committees, I encourage the public to report them to my office rather than airing grievances on social media,” Ole Maimai stated.
He reaffirmed his commitment to investing in education infrastructure, saying an informed and educated society is key to shaping a prosperous future.
Eunice Sakian, a parent of one of the beneficiaries, thanked the MP for timely disbursement. “Issuing bursaries before schools reopen will help parents save on transport costs and prevent children from being sent home for lack of fees,” she said.
The move is expected to ease financial pressure on struggling families and enhance access to education across the constituency.
