Governor Nathif Jama Courts Saudi Investors to Unlock Garissa’s Economic Potential

Garissa County Governor Nathif Jama Adam has made a compelling case for international investment in northern Kenya during the Kenya-Saudi Trade and Investment Conference held in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. Addressing top Saudi business leaders and government officials, Governor Nathif spotlighted Garissa’s vast untapped economic potential across key sectors.
“Garissa stands at the threshold of a new economic era,” Governor Nathif said in his keynote address. “With strategic investments in agriculture, livestock, renewable energy, tourism, and mining, we can unlock immense value for both local communities and global investors.”
The Governor emphasized the county’s readiness to welcome partnerships, citing its abundant land, solar resources, and growing population as foundational pillars for sustainable development. He urged investors to explore opportunities in value addition, green energy, and infrastructure.
The high-level forum, attended by dignitaries including Jeddah Chamber of Commerce President Mohammed Yousuf Naghi and Kenya’s Ambassador to Saudi Arabia Amb. Mohamed Ramadhan Ruwange, provided a platform for bilateral dialogue and trade promotion.
Following his address, Governor Nathif held side meetings with Saudi investors to explore collaborative ventures aimed at creating jobs and accelerating Garissa’s economic transformation.
“This engagement is just the beginning,” Governor Nathif noted. “InshaAllah, we will soon see investments that change lives and uplift our communities.”
His participation marked a significant milestone in Garissa’s international outreach, positioning the county as a promising frontier for investment in Kenya’s evolving economic narrative.
