Kabete MP Hon. Githua Wamacukuru has announced significant progress in the constituency’s push to strengthen market infrastructure, with the construction of the King’eero ESP Market now officially advertised by the Department of Housing and Urban Development.

The milestone signals a major advancement in the government’s commitment to supporting micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), with the new market set to offer modern facilities that improve efficiency and dignity for local traders.

In addition to King’eero, several other market projects—including Uthiru, Muguga, Kahuho, Gikuni, and Wangige—are underway, all fully funded by the National Government. These markets will feature smart stalls, cold storage, storage units, and administrative offices, tailored to meet the evolving needs of small-scale businesses.

Hon. Wamacukuru reaffirmed his dedication to economic empowerment through infrastructure. “By investing in well-planned, fully equipped markets, we are creating jobs, stimulating trade, and giving our entrepreneurs the support they need to thrive,” he said.

The rollout of these projects aligns with the national government’s agenda of economic inclusion and dignified workspaces, particularly for informal and small-scale traders who form the backbone of Kenya’s economy.
