Ann Wamuratha Empowers Githunguri Residents Through Practical Support

KIAMBU, Kenya – Kiambu Woman Representative Ann Wamuratha brought a message of dignity and growth to Githunguri’s Komothai area on Friday, leading an extensive empowerment drive that provided residents with essential tools and community support resources.
The outreach event saw the distribution of blow dryers, shaving machines, trolleys, motorcycle umbrellas, and UV machines—critical equipment aimed at fostering entrepreneurship among youth and women. In addition to supporting economic empowerment, Wamuratha extended her care to vulnerable community members by donating blankets to the elderly and providing sanitary towels to three local schools.
Recognizing the importance of community cohesion, Wamuratha presented tents and chairs to welfare groups like Kigumo Welfare and Kibichoi Welfare, ensuring they have the means to host events and activities. Water tanks were also distributed to enhance access to clean water.
“This initiative is a clear reflection of our unwavering commitment to sustainable community development, improved livelihoods, and inclusive growth for all,” said Wamuratha. “Together, we rise.”
The event concluded with a shared meal, reinforcing Wamuratha’s commitment to both practical support and community dignity. Her efforts continue to set a precedent for leadership grounded in service, equity, and empowerment.
With her sustained focus on grassroots initiatives, Wamuratha is shaping a Kiambu County where opportunity and dignity are not just promises but everyday realities.
