The Incoming Kakamega county governor aspirant Fernandez Barasa has urged Matungu residents to enroll in large numbers for their National identification Cards that will help them register as voters in large numbers in preparations of 2022 general elections.
Speaking in Matungu constituency on Saturday 3rd July ,when he Joined mourners to bid farewell to Mama Risper Luttah,Barasa reiterated the importance of the Identification Cards especially its role in registration for a voters card.
“Iwant to encourage you my people you get IDs and register as voters in large numbers so that your numbers will count on matters politics and policy making in this country,”Barasa said.
Barasa also challenged elected leaders from the sugar growing zone, to come up with mechanism that will ensure that Mumias sugar comes back to life.
“Mumias sugar revival issue should be addressed amicably without being politicized, Farmers want to see smoke and the livelihood improved,”Barasa added.
Barasa is one of the front runners who is keen to succeed the outgoing Governor Oparanya in 2022 as the second Kakamega county boss.
Barasa so far is leading in the race that has attracted over ten candidates ,among them being senator Cleophas Malala,Bonny Khalwalwe,Phylip Kutima,Dr Amukowa Anangwe,Mp Ayub Savula among others.
