Nixon Kukubo of Tumaini Liberation has declared his interest for presidency in the August 2022 general elections.
Kukubo is set to vie in general elections as an independent candidate.
Speaking to Hot News in an interview yesterday in Nairobi he said poverty continues to stalk Kenyans same way it did during colonialism and slavery time.
He said the problem of Kenyan leadership is unequal distribution of resources, gluttonous and corrupt leaders, self-centred leaders obtaining money through fraudulent.
“Returning thieves to power will be like a national disaster, Kenya is not an island with few individuals reasoning but a nation of millions reasoning and wise people. Hakuna nchi inayoweza kutajirisha watu wake ikiwa wameweka maslahi yao mbele kuliko ya raia. Time has come for Kenya to elect a new blood,” he said.
He appealed to Kenyans to especially youths to restrain from being misused by politicians who dish them money during campaign season only to desert them after assuming offices leaving the lowly youths jobless and helpless.
“We want a government that will prosecute both the prominent and common people charged with corruption to return the loot, step aside and not to hold any public office for twenty years. A thief is a thief whether big or small,” he lamented.
Kukubo’s contested first time in the 2007 general elections becoming last with 5,927 votes and has vowed to win this time round.
Kukubo is a former Kenya Defence Force (KDF) Soldier and Music Artist who has warned other aspirants to prepare for a bruising battle.
