When you reach Kibera Law court, you will come across a man who walks up and down as he tries to keep things in order.
“You cannot enter this precinct without your facemask on, we cannot expose magistrates, journalists, security guards and all staffs to COVID-19,” Nelson told a boda boda operator who had visited the court with neither a helmet nor a mask.
Our team also observed that the man is flexible, humble and hardworking as confirmed by one of the litigants.
“He is always ready to assist us, he does not take bribes but makes sure we are assisted as required,” said Agnes Mutiso, a complainant in one of the assault cases in Kibera law courts.
Another person who spoke to our team said that he has been spotting Nelson within the court premises upto late hours.
“I have been seeing him everytime I pass by the court’s gate, he always comes early and leaves very late, he is just a hardworking man,”he added.
The report was written after some observations were made by our team at the court to know how it operates.
Our efforts to get Nelson for comments was unsuccessful as he told us he has no authority to speak to the press.
