Westlands MP Tim Wanyonyi has been warned against blackmailing and threatening ODM leader Raila Odinga over the Azimio La Umoja gubernatorial ticket for Nairobi.
Over 60 youth and women leaders warned the MP against dragging ODM party leader in his battles with other candidates.
” Wanyonyi has been around for too long and he should be the last person to issue threats to the ODM party and its leader Raila Odinga,” Millicent Achieng, a youth leader in Nairobi said.
The youths were responding to a press statement issued by a group allied to Wanyonyi, where it warned that the MP was willing to lead Luhya community voters out of the Azimio La Umoja team to Deputy President William Ruto’s wing if his not given Azimio la umoja ticket .
” He will not win the ticket through intimidation and blackmail but through persuasion.Let him hit the ground campaigning like the rest, ” Shadrack Mang’oli from Kariobangi said.
Wanyonyi is battling for the Azimio La Umoja ticket with the president of the Kenya Chambers of Commerce Richard Ngatia and business woman Agnes Kagure.
Wanyonyi is facing stiff competition from president of Chambers of commerce Richard Ngatia who has hit the ground with energy,amove seen as a threat to Wanyonyi.
