Residents of Paai village where the bridge collapsed Kajiado County are up in arms after they accused their former Governor David Nkendianye for his reckless remarks on the just recent collapsed bridge.
The residents said it was surprising to see the former county supremo who has since declared to occupy the seat again in smiles and pretty happy at a time they were trying to look for a solution on the collapsed bridge due to heavy downfalls being experienced across the country.
“It is sad that some of the leaders who want to lead us can be as petty as Nkendianye. This is man who came here smiling at a time were in tragedy,” said Mark Metito.
Metito said most residents were surprised by his actions promising to teach him a lesson by re-electing Joseph Ole Lenku.
“We are the voters and he will never occupy this seat again. We will stand with Ole Lenku. He’s a caring governor who understands our plight”, he said.
During his visit, Nkedianye promised to build the bridge back in 2013 but throughout his five year reign, the promise never materialised.
Governor Ole Lenku has already promised to immediately restart the construction of the bridge and says it will be completed before August.
Some of the locals have conplained that Nkedianye never visited the area when he was governor, and most of his stalled projects have been completed by Governor Ole Lenku’s administration.
