Nairobi County Assembly Mcas will this afternoon know which side is majority and minority in a ruling expected to be made official by Speaker Ken Ng’ondi.
Speaking to media in his office today morning, Speaker Ng’ondi said he will make a ruling in today’s first Assembly sitting so that members can now kick-start their oversight role moving forward.
“This afternoon I will make aruling to determine which side has majority and minority, because we want now to start our oversight role ,”Ng’ondi said.
On the court order that was doing rounds in social media,Ng’ondi said he hasn’t been served in his office ,hence he will go ahead and make the ruling.
“So far haven’t been served by such a court order restricting me to announce the house leadership, so am within the time frame and law,”he added.
Speaker Ng’ondi has however advised the Mcas to support Governor Sakaja’s administration moving foward and minimise politicking.
Sakaja is also expected to open the assembly and give his key note adress in today’s first sitting.
