KURA boss Silas Kinoti Says all Infrastructure Projects Initiated will be Completed across the Country.

The Director General of the Kenya Urban Roads Authority Silas Kinoti has reiterated his commitment to continue upgrading and modernising road networks in the country in a bid to facilitate movement of people and goods and improve public safety.

Kinoti who is credited with overseeing the expansion of Nairobi’s Ngong Road Phase III into a dual carriageway that is already completed,said plans are underway to elevate Nairobi City’s status and its environs in order to achieve the Vision 2030 objective of transforming the status of the country to a middle-income economy.

“As I lead KURA to the next level, I am very much aware that the world is becoming a global village through information technology. We will leverage on technology to reduce traffic congestion in our towns and wholesomely manage our road network” he said.

Mr Kinoti said that,the Authority has geared its programs towards the development of Sustainable Cities and Communities as espoused by the Sustainable Development Goals framework,further calling for adoption of technology and embracing innovation in major Towns across the 47 counties.

Kinotis achievement at the helm of Kura,has managed to come up with rehabilitation programmes that has quickly transformed lives and livelihoods in the country’s urban centres.

“In the shortest time ,we have managed to construct several bypasses and feeder roads,”he added.

Kinoti has also shared out how Outer ring road upgrading has been a game changer in the transport sector,which he says a proper road network creates a stimulating effect that not only creates wealth but also enhances social cohesion and integration.

“Roads are at the heart of our social and Economic development as they facilitate trade by connecting our people across all the 47 counties,”he added.

Kinoti has also hailed president William Ruto for his passion for Economic growth that will help steer the infrastructural agenda in his his manifesto.

KURA has executed its vision since its inception,in delivering a safe and efficient urban road transport infrastructure across the country.
