Eli Kipruto Rotich, a 22-year-old IT student at
JKUAT university is the newest millionaire in town.
Mr. Eli placed a Ksh 49 bet and correctly predicted the outcome of 17 games to win himself a whooping 200 Million Kenya Shillings in the Betika Mega Jackpot.
Betika launched the Mega Jackpot in the beginning of the 2022/23 football season, as a revamp of their 100 Million Grand Jackpot.
Eli becomes the first person to win the 200 Million Betika Mega Jackpot since the revamp.
Mr. Eli who resides in Nakuru with his brother is the 5th born in a family of 7 (3 girls, 4 boys)
and has been betting with Betika for approximately 3 years.
“I have been placing bets on Jackpots and Pre-match bets mostly on Weekends when there are major league games. I love analysing games even without betting,”Eli said with a smile on his face.
“I usually spend less than 100kshs every weekend and I didn’t think much about this Mega
Jackpot combination because I have registered just one bonus win over the years,”he added.
Speaking during the handover of the cheque, Betika’s Senior Product Manager Kent Kagicha
expressed his delight at Mr. Elis’ win.
‘’Eli, you have done it. You have single handedly won
200 million Kenya Shillings with just one jackpot bet. It’s unheard of, the odds were in your
favour,”he added.
Betika’s Senior Brand Meister, Mr Eric Mwiti also expressed joy at Eli’s win and urged Betika
