MDD Urges Ruto to Lower Cost of Living

The Movement for Defense Democracy (MDD) has called on president William Ruto to stop politicking and vengeance and concentrate on the high cost of living inflicting pain and hardships on Kenyans after the deadly COVID-19 pandemic and the general elections.

The movement led by its leader Victor Marende, Fred Mukhoya and Rachael Tabitha say youths are jobless, Kenyans have no food, drought affecting the nation while the government is lost in politics.

“Kenyans are dieing of hunger Mr President, students are going days without food what they call ‘Kuinama‘, release Ksh. 5.7 billion HELB to cussion our children.” Marende said.

John Mukhoya said the opposition legislators have been bought and cannot defend the minority.

“We know Ruto did not win the election but since he took let him learn that he is now the president for all and not for a certain political party, tribe, people or region. Why is he pocketing all the MPs and governors?” he said.

Rachael Tabitha asked what changed after Ruto took power for Unga price to rise from Ksh.100 to Ksh 200 in less than six months in office.

“Electricity prices are high, NSSF is in the final stages to be raised, over taxation is frustrating Kenyans what are you doing about this. Is this the repeat of Moi’s era?” she asked.

The MDD also called for equal distribution of national resources while castigating the move of the government borrowing over 5 billion daily burdening Kenyans the more while most regions remain undeveloped.
