The Mt Kenya Mountain Run offers participants a unique and challenging athletic experience, with routes ranging from 3 km to 13 km and an altitude of over 3000 metres above sea level. The event brings together runners of all levels, from amateur to elite, and has been widely praised for its well-organized and well-supported race.

This year’s edition promises to be even better, with the addition of new race categories such as the veterans (Masters for both male and female) and eco-friendly initiatives.

The County Government of Meru is also proud to announce partnerships and collaborations with a number of local and international sports organizations, environmental organizations, and corporate sponsors, which will provide valuable support in terms of funding, marketing, and volunteer recruitment.

The Mt Kenya Mountain Run is more than just a race. It is a community event that brings together runners, local communities, and organizations to promote health, wellness, and environmental conservation, and to raise awareness of cancer in Meru County in collaboration with Meru Hospice, a nonprofit palliative care organisation.

The event has had a positive impact on the local residents by promoting physical activity and wellness, raising awareness of environmental conservation and cancer, and generating economic benefits through tourism and job creation.

“We are thrilled to host the third edition of the Mt Kenya Mountain Running,” said the Meru County Governor Kawira Mwangaza. “This event is a testament to our commitment to promoting health, wellness, and environmental conservation, and to fighting cancer in Meru County. We look forward to welcoming runners from all over Kenya and beyond to this magnificent event.”
