Digital drivers, Car Owners, Investors and Bodabodas have called on National Transport Safety Authority (NTSA) to revoke Licenses of Bolt and other Application companies that have failed to adhere to the last year gazzetted regulations.
The statement read stated that, On 20th June 2022,NTSA’s rules was gazetted by then transport Cs Hon James Macharia that all stakeholders and app operators were required to comply on regulations within 90days of gazettement
The issues addressed where; Regulations required every application company to have physical location based in Kenya, all applications companies to make public their deactivation policy explaining how drivers and cars operating on their platform can be deactivated from the platform, all companies to cap commission at 18%, all the application Companies to have a clear pricing mechanism negotiated between the companies drivers and car owners.
Therefore, Bolt has no operating office and continues to deactivate drivers without notice. Continues to operate in total disregard of the law.
He stated that, Drivers and car owners wish to give 7 days notice to withdraw bolt licenses and to sanction all other licenses to other Digital Tax apps like Wasili, Little, Hava and Farasi and ensure that they fully comply.
They further appealed to Nairobi Governor Jonstone Sakaja to revoke business permit of bolt.
