Nairobi Governor Sakaja Arthur Johnson,on Wednesday 22 March chaired the Nairobi
City County Executive Committee (CEC) at City Hall, Nairobi.
In the meeting, the cabinet considered policy issues that will impact service delivery to the citizens of Nairobi, under the four pillars of Order, Dignity, Hope, and Opportunities for all.
In the private meeting Chaired by Governor Sakaja, three Nairobi City County Urban planning policies were considered and approved.
The Policies were presented by Acting Cec for built environment and chief officer Urban development and planning Patrick Analo .
They included, the Nairobi Land Use Policy, Nairobi City County Development Control Policy, and Nairobi County Property Addressing and Street Naming Policy.
The Nairobi land use policy is expected to provide parameters upon which development applications for land use and physical development are evaluated and approvals granted.
“This will minimize cases of haphazard and uncontrolled developments within the city,”Patrick Analo said.
Mr Analo also opined that, the Nairobi City County development control policy, aims to revise the development control guidelines for effective urban management of developments within the city.
It also aims to sustainably guide and control developments within Nairobi for the next 10 years and to facilitate private sector investments within the city aimed at transforming Nairobi into a modern city with high quality of life for all residents.
