The management of the Standard Gauge Railway (SGR) in Kenya has been compelled to take a stern stance against drug use in their coaches due to several cases of misbehavior by asection of passengers.
As a result, tough rules have been imposed to outlaw drugs from the trains.
This move is aimed at maintaining discipline and ensuring the safety of all passengers aboard the SGR trains.
In addition to this, the Managing Director of Kenya Railways, Philip Mainga, has implored passengers to observe decorum when engaging with the railway officials.
Maingi expressed his disappointment with the behavior of an aggrieved passenger who failed to handle a situation appropriately and instead resorted to a loud confrontation.
The KR boss said It is essential for passengers to realize that their conduct while on the SGR trains impacts not only themselves but also other travelers and the railway staff.
“Let’s be responsible as passengers, let’s respect each other and also our to our staffs,so that we can serve you better,”Mainga Said.
Mr Mainga said the SGR management is committed to providing a safe and comfortable travel experience for all passengers, and this can only be achieved when everyone adheres to the rules and regulations put in place.
