An Activist has moved to Nyeri high court and filed a petition to remove Nyeri County assembly clerk Jenard Mwiggeh from office over alleged embezzlement of public funds.
An Activist Francis Awino ,in his petition file, said recent findings by Auditor General report, shows millions of shillings that were irregularly spent is enough reason for Jenard Mwiggeh to step aside.
Mr Awino has given the clerk seven days to resign failure to which he will mobilize locals and carry out demonstrations in Nyeri Town to force him out of office.
Calls come after the latest report 2021/22 flagged the assembly for irregular expenditure on ward administration expenses where the statement of receipts and payments reflected use of goods and services amounting to over 433M shillings which included an amount of 56M in respect of other operating expenses out of which only 24M was spent on ward administration expenses.
