Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja’s appearance at Dci kiambu headquarters three weeks ago over complains by Chinese investors in real estate business in Nairobi, has led to the arrest of Former South C Mca Osman Khalif who was arrested on Friday night by Dci sleuths.
According to sources within Governor Sakaja’s inner circle, told this writer that ,Mr Osman his high appetite for money forced the Chinese investors to report him to President William Ruto at state house ,and the head of state ordered Dci to summon Sakaja to shed light on the allegations.
“Our boss was summoned three weeks ago by Dci and he appeared in person, the complains were on how Osman Khalif is conning Chinese especially on approval of new houses to be constructed, so our boss gave out Osman to Dci to investigate him, that’s why he was arrested Friday,”Sakaja’s ally who sought anonymity revealed.
The source further said, the arrest was well planned to happen when Sakaja is out of the country, as he was in morroco but jetted back in the country on Saturday.
Osmans family have tried to reach out to Governor Sakaja to save Osman ,but they can’t reach him on phone ,something that they were forced to adress the media on Saturday to change the story that Osman was abducted and not arrested.
“Our Governor amenyonga Simu, family ya Osman wametumia boss messages kama zote ,wanataka boss aingilie kati lakini boss amezua,Osman anaharibia mdosi jina sana,Acha ajue io tamaa yake ya pesa si poa,”close ally of Sakaja said.
The former MCA is also at the center of a corruption scandal where he looks out for contractors seeking opportunities to work with the county government and asks for a bribe to oil the system.
“Osman charges between Ksh 100,000 to 200,000 from people seeking contracts at the county and promises to enter their details into the system and facilitate your pre-qualification, which is supposed to be a free service from the county government,” said a Nairobi businessman who sought anonymity.
Last month Osman found himself under scrutiny as Nairobi County Assembly Majority Leader Peter Imwatok raised serious allegations of harassment ,Corruption and threats directed at senior staff within the county administration.
His is also facing accusations of intimidating staff while invoking the governor’s name to push for illegal payments.
