Lucy Maina, renowned as Becky in the popular Kenyan TV series ‘Becky,’ has become a rising star in the entertainment industry. Her notable roles extend beyond ‘Becky’ to include appearances in ‘Aunty Boss,’ and Showmax films like ‘Second Family,’ ‘Crime and Justice,’ & ‘Murder Camp.’

Known for portraying the lead character Becky, a young mother navigating life in urban slums and reconnecting with her high school love, Junior (Andrew Levi), Lucy has captivated audiences with her compelling performances.

Lucy’s journey into acting started during her school days at Green Cottage Academy in Kiambu and Gathirimu Girls High School. As a member of the Gathirimu Girls Drama Club, she discovered her passion for drama while playing a tree, inspired by established actresses like Jackie Matubia, a fellow alumna.

After initially pursuing a course in travel and tourism, Lucy realized her true calling lay in acting. Her determination led her to audition for ‘Aunty Boss,’ where she secured a minor role as a cousin to one of the main actors.

Apart from her iconic role in ‘Becky,’ Lucy showcased her versatility in ‘Second Family,’ portraying Detective Beryl. Outside the acting realm, she has delved into agribusiness, becoming a farmer in 2022. Lucy also engages in documentary research, reflecting her diverse interests and talents.
