It was all joy for Mt. View voters when the area MCA Hon. Maurice Onyango launched a personal sponsorship student who will join Kangemi Vocational Centre.
The programme Hon. Maurice Fundi Scholarship will be pioneered by 25 needy students, and then the number increases every year, he said.
On this occasion, the MCA issued 500 bursary forms to voters for secondary and college students.
He affirmed that he has set up a committee that works on the busaries, and every tribe is represented, so as to ensure equity for every community.
He said he is a servant leader who is open to correction by voters and urged them to tell him whenever they feel has something wrong.
He also condemned hubs of illicit brews within residential areas and urged the ACC to arrest both the landlords and tenants whi are involved in such businesses since they are destroying the lives of the youth in his ward.
He said will not allow such business to go on in his ward.
The MCA also rallied support for his party ODM and his leaders, beginning with Rt. Hon. Raila Amolo Odinga (People’s President), then Hon. Tim Wanyonyi, whom he said has done a great job in Westlands and is warming for a gubernatorial seat.
He was speaking alongside Hon. Dan Oria, MCA Dandora Phase 4, Bunge la wananchi President Gaucho, who is also a member of Baba defence force (MDD) and Cymone Awene an aspiring MCA for Karura ward together with other ODM leaders within Westlands Constituency.
Also, gracing the occasion was the County Education office representatives, the area ACC and assistant chief who urged residents to report any cases of illegal gas plants near residential areas and illicit brews in the plots.
