Following the disbandment of the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) and water committee by Nairobi City County Assembly Speaker Kennedy Ng’ondi, new revelations emerge.
Water Committee Chairperson Redson Otieno is alleged to have absconded with 18 million shillings designated for a committee members’ international trip.
Otieno, also the ward representative for Ngei, purportedly received the funds from Nairobi City Water and Sewerage Company (NCWSC) to facilitate the committee’s training and trip.
Upon learning of the situation, the Assembly leadership decided to dissolve the committee and establish a new one with a fresh chairperson.
“We are glad that justice has finally been served and such leaders with corrupt minds will not hold the office again. He is also incompetent due to his conduct of the committee sessions,” a member of the committee told Journalists on Thursday.
