Global Tilapia, a prominent fish products manufacturer in Kenya, has introduced a novel product named “Ready to Eat.” This new offering presents whole tilapia fish, available in various sizes, cooked and conveniently frozen for consumers.
The company distinguishes its product by providing value addition services such as frying, freezing, packaging, and branding. During the inauguration event of Naivas Supermarket Medilink, Josephine Njoki, the marketing manager at Global Tilapia, underscored that all their fish originates from Mbita, Lake Victoria.
She elucidated the meticulous process wherein the fish is transported in refrigerated trucks to their processing center in Embakasi. Here, the fish undergoes thorough cleaning, cutting, cooking, packaging, and freezing.
Njoki accentuated the company’s dedication to addressing market needs and advancing the growth of the fish industry through value addition, echoing sentiments expressed by President William Ruto. Global Tilapia’s product range, including “Ready to Eat,” is readily available at partner retail outlets such as Chandarana, Carrefour, and Naivas Supermarkets.
In addition to the newly introduced “Ready to Eat,” Global Tilapia offers a diverse array of products catering to varying consumer preferences. This product expansion includes fish fingers, fillets, nuggets, samosas, and sausages, further enriching their product portfolio.
Njoki highlighted that the introduction of these new products has positively impacted employment opportunities, particularly benefiting young individuals seeking meaningful employment opportunities.
Through the introduction of value-added products like “Ready to Eat,” Global Tilapia is not only enhancing consumer convenience but also contributing to the economic empowerment of local communities.
This initiative aligns with the company’s commitment to innovation and quality, as it continues to establish itself as a leader in the Kenyan fish products market. Global Tilapia remains steadfast in its mission to deliver excellence and value to consumers while fostering sustainable growth within the local fish industry.
