Dr. Ekrah Ndungu Highlights Government Commitment to TVET at KIPS Graduation

Dr. Ekrah Ndungu, an advocate for Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET), delivered a compelling speech at the Kenya Institute of Professional Studies (KIPS) graduation ceremony on Friday 7th 2024.

Emphasizing the government’s commitment to the TVET sector, Dr. Ndungu highlighted the transformative role of technical education in empowering youth and reducing poverty in Kenya.

Dr. Ndungu, addressing the graduands with great honor, remarked,

“Our association, KENAPCO, has been at the forefront of promoting TVET in Kenya. Today’s graduation is a testament to our collective efforts in changing the narrative around TVET. We are moving from negative connotations to embracing TVET as a vital part of our education system.”

She praised the Chief Guest and assured continued support from KENAPCO for the ongoing educational reforms.

“We will continue to press on and support your office, aligning ourselves with the reforms being implemented. TVET is now a pivotal tool for empowerment and poverty reduction,” Dr. Ndungu added.

Highlighting the significant role of KIPS in the TVET landscape, she noted that KIPS is a founding member of KENAPCO, with its Chief Principal serving as the Treasurer.

“The growth of KIPS is a testament to the commitment of its leaders. KIPS has significantly contributed to Kenya’s skilled workforce, shaping the minds of countless individuals,” she said.

She urged the graduating students to embrace opportunities for labor placement abroad through Kenya’s bilateral ties, citing the global stage as theirs to conquer.

“Use these opportunities as leverage. Always be led by positivity and optimism,” she encouraged.

Dr. Ndungu concluded by invoking the power of self-belief and faith,

“Believe in yourself and rely on the infinite power of God. Your future is bright, and your potential is limitless.”

The event was a significant milestone for KIPS, reflecting its commitment to excellence and dedication to its students.

The institution continues to play a crucial role in developing Kenya’s skilled workforce, contributing to national and regional development goals.
