Peter Macharia Kamau, Founder and Managing Director of Jijenge Credit Limited, has issued a heartfelt plea to the youth of Kenya, urging them to remain calm and embrace dialogue to address the contentious issues in the Finance Bill 2024. In his message, Mr. Kamau emphasized the importance of peaceful protest and lawful means of airing grievances to prevent any further loss of life.
Mr. Kamau commended President Dr. Hon. William Samoei Ruto for his prudent decision to refer the Finance Bill back to Parliament, withholding his assent. “This move by His Excellency the President reflects wisdom and a willingness to listen to the concerns of the citizens,” Kamau remarked.
He further advised the youth to avoid violence and rash decisions, emphasizing that constructive dialogue and legal avenues are the best ways to address their concerns. “No single life should be lost in the name of protests,” Kamau stated, highlighting the devastating impact of violent demonstrations.
“The ball is now with our MPs, and we hope they will heed the call of all Kenyans and their constituents,” Kamau added, expressing optimism that the Members of Parliament will act in the best interest of the people.
