Following a week of intense debate and nationwide protests over the Finance Bill, Member of Parliament for Mwala Constituency, Eng. Vincent Musyoka Musau, popularly known as Kawaya, has resumed his focus on the strategic development of his constituency. With a grand return marked by significant milestones, Hon. Eng. Kawaya continues to champion initiatives aimed at the well-being of Mwala residents.
Eng. Kawaya’s return to Mwala was met with celebration and anticipation as he arrived in Mbiuni Ward to deliver a new school bus and commission a science laboratory at St. Augustine Mbiuni High School. The event was a stark contrast to the chaotic scenes witnessed in major towns across the country during the Finance Bill protests.
“It was a moment of pride as I made a grand entry to Mbiuni Ward to deliver a school bus and commission a new science laboratory at St. Augustine Mbiuni High School,” said Hon. Eng. Kawaya. He took the opportunity to address the concerns of his constituents regarding his support for the Finance Bill, explaining the rationale behind his vote and outlining his development plans for the financial year.
Eng. Kawaya emphasized the importance of patience and understanding during the tumultuous period, commending the people of Mwala for their composure. “I appreciate the people of Mwala for remaining calm and exercising patience as they waited for my statement on the Finance Bill. In my address, I detailed my development blueprint for the current financial year, highlighting numerous last-mile electricity projects being implemented in our area, some of which are ready for handing over,” he explained.
The MP also praised the younger generation, particularly Gen Z, for their role in instilling accountability and reminding leaders of their duty to serve. “I applaud our Gen Z for the sanity they’ve brought to the leadership class, reminding elected leaders that they are servants, not bosses. Such conversations should be devolved to the counties to address the existing rot and ensure overdue cleaning,” he stated.
The event was attended by notable leaders, including Hon. Peter Kilonzo, Hon. Douglus Musyoka, and Hon. Kikaawa, who joined Eng. Kawaya in celebrating the advancements in education and infrastructure within Mwala Constituency.
With his focus firmly on development and transparency, Eng. Kawaya’s return to Mwala marks a continued commitment to uplifting the community and addressing their concerns through concrete actions and strategic initiatives.
