Known for her kind-hearted nature, strong will, and go-getter attitude, Hon. AG Miano is recognized as a pace setter in her field. As Kenya’s ninth Attorney General since independence, she follows a line of distinguished predecessors including Charles Mugane Njonjo, James Karugu, Joseph Kamere, Mathew Muli, Amos Wako, Prof. Githu Muigai, Kihara Kariuki, and Justin Bedan Muturi.

Upon her appointment, leaders from various sectors quickly expressed their congratulations. Dr. Hon. Ekrah Ndung’u, Chairperson of the Kenya National Association of Private Colleges, was the first to extend her goodwill, stating:

“We acknowledge His Excellency the President’s empowerment of women through the elevation and appointment of Hon. AG Rebecca Miano, EGH, as Kenya’s first female Attorney General.”

Hon. Miano previously served in President Ruto’s government in two capacities: as Cabinet Secretary for Investment, Trade, and Industry, and earlier as Cabinet Secretary in charge of East African Community, ASALS, and Regional Development.

At our desk, we take this honorable opportunity to wish Hon. Rebecca Miano all the best in her new role as Kenya’s Attorney General.
