Former Nairobi County Assembly MCA Mary Ariviza Mwami is now next in the list of Nomination in the race to replace John Mbadi who was recently nominated by President to head ministry of Treasury as a Cabinet Secretary.
Mary an ardent ODM member is on a clear path to National Assembly.
According to sources at IEBC her gender and PDW status put her in the front-line for the post.
“She is well positioned.Checking the party list presented by ODM Party to IEBC, Mary qualifies gender,PDW status also put her at the very best to grab it.” Source said.
Once the list is submitted to the IEBC, it cannot be altered until the next election.
Mbadi, who is also ODM national chairman, pulled out from the Homa Bay governor race in the 2022 elections and was later nominated to the National Assembly by his party.
Mbadi dropped his bid just a day after the party announced that it would adopt consensus in some areas to avoid fall-outs with the party.
