Wajir South Member of Parliament Mohamed Adow attended the graduation ceremony for the first batch of teachers who received scholarships under the Wajir South Constituency Development Fund’s Scholarship for Teacher Trainees.
This significant milestone reflects an initiative started in the early weeks of Adow’s tenure to address the severe teacher shortage in the constituency.
Adow expressed his immense joy and pride at the ceremony, stating, “It was with immense joy and pride that I today attended the graduation ceremony of the first batch of teachers who received scholarships under the Wajir South Constituency Development Fund’s Scholarship for Teacher Trainees. This initiative, which we started in the early weeks of my tenure, aimed to tackle the severe shortage of teachers in our constituency.”
The graduates are among the hundreds of trainees who joined as continuing students when the scholarship program was unveiled. Their dedication and hard work have now culminated in their graduation from Mount Kenya University, ready to serve the community.
“Seeing these dedicated individuals graduate from Mount Kenya University and prepare to serve our community reaffirms our commitment to resolving the teacher shortage crisis with our own people and our own resources. Together, we are building a brighter future for Wajir South!” Adow added.
This initiative highlights the commitment of Wajir South to invest in local talent and resources, fostering a self-sustaining solution to the educational challenges faced by the constituency. The program’s success is a testament to the power of community-driven efforts in addressing critical issues and building a brighter future for all.
