Principal Secretary for the State Department of Shipping and Maritime Affairs, Geoffrey Kaituko, has announced exciting new developments for Kenyan maritime cadets. In addition to the cadets traveling to South Korea for the Global OnBoard Training (GOBT-24), three more cadets from Bandari Maritime Academy (BMA) are currently undergoing sea-time training aboard Orion Bulkers in Germany.
Under Kaituko’s leadership, the department is committed to building and strengthening partnerships with shipping companies that can provide Kenyan maritime students with the essential sea-time training required for their careers.
“Apart from the cadets traveling to South Korea for the Global OnBoard Training (GOBT-24), I am delighted to announce that three more cadets from Bandari Maritime Academy are currently undergoing sea-time aboard Orion Bulkers in Germany,” said Kaituko. “We will continue to build and strengthen partnerships with shipping companies willing to provide our maritime students with opportunities for the mandatory sea-time training.”
Kaituko expressed gratitude to the leadership and staff at Bandari Maritime Academy for their dedication and hard work in ensuring that graduates meet the global maritime labor market requirements.
