The primary goal of the World Skills Kenya National Competition is to raise the profile and recognition of skilled professionals in Kenya. By integrating international occupational standards into the country’s training systems, the competition aims to enhance the quality of vocational education and training in Kenya. It also promotes skills mobility, allowing Kenyan professionals to compete and collaborate on a global stage. Moreover, the event serves as a platform for demonstrating the competence and potential of Kenyan youth to industry leaders and the broader economy.

Beyond the competition, Zetech University representatives participated in various plenary sessions, featuring keynote speeches and panel discussions. These sessions provided opportunities for engagement with industry experts, sharing insights, and discussing the future of vocational education and training in Kenya. Through these engagements, Zetech University not only showcased its academic and technical competence but also contributed to the broader conversation about the role of skills development in the country’s economic growth.

This latest accolade follows a series of recent successes for Zetech University, including third place at the Inter-University Power Learn Project Hackathon for their AirSafi IoT innovation, a first runners-up position in the African Telecommunication Union (ATU) Innovation Challenge, and recognition as the best university by Kenya Education Network Trust (KENET) in the utilization of online resources and e-learning.

As Zetech University looks to the future, it remains committed to nurturing talent, fostering innovation, and contributing to the development of a skilled workforce that will drive Kenya’s economic and social progress.
