The ceremony saw the issuance of a state-of-the-art lathe machine to the Seme Artisans Association and a carwash machine, along with related accessories, to the Central Seme Bodaboda Association. Over 300 MSEs from the constituency benefitted from the generous donation.

Support for Artisans and Transport Operators

The lathe machine, provided to the Seme Artisans Association, is expected to enhance the productivity and precision of local craftsmen. The machine will allow artisans to undertake more complex and diverse projects, potentially increasing their business opportunities and income.

Meanwhile, the Central Seme Bodaboda Association received a carwash machine and accessories, which are anticipated to improve the efficiency and service quality of local boda boda operators. This equipment will enable them to offer carwash services alongside their transportation business, creating new revenue streams and contributing to their financial stability.

Empowering the Local Economy

Dr. Oparanya, in his remarks, emphasized the government’s commitment to empowering local MSEs as a cornerstone of economic development. “Supporting our artisans and transport operators is crucial for fostering economic growth at the grassroots level. This equipment will not only improve their operational efficiency but also contribute to the overall prosperity of the Seme Constituency.”

Principal Secretary Hon. Susan Mangen echoed these sentiments, highlighting the importance of practical support for MSEs. “We are dedicated to providing the tools necessary for small businesses to thrive. This initiative is a step towards ensuring that our local entrepreneurs have the resources they need to succeed.”

Hon. James Nyikal praised the initiative as a vital contribution to his constituency. “This support will make a real difference in the lives of our local entrepreneurs. I am grateful for the continued commitment of the government and MSEA to our community’s development.”

Looking Ahead

The provision of this equipment marks a positive development for Seme Constituency, underscoring the government’s focus on practical support for small businesses. As these MSEs integrate the new tools into their operations, they are expected to experience enhanced productivity and new business opportunities.

The event also served as a reminder of the critical role that government and community leaders play in fostering a conducive environment for local businesses to thrive. With continued support and investment, Seme Constituency is poised for significant economic growth and development.
