Nairobi, Kenya – September 20, 2024 — The 51st President of the Law Society of Kenya (LSK), Faith Odhiambo, expressed her profound joy this morning following the safe recovery of several abductees whose whereabouts had been unknown for days. The emotional reunion has not only brought relief to families but also reignited a national conversation on security and accountability.

Among the abductees is Bob Njagi, who found his way to Tigoni Police Station around 1 a.m. this morning. Njagi, alive and well, quickly communicated with his family, expressing gratitude for the prayers and support from the public.

“To family, friends, and every Kenyan that has continued to pray for me, I wish to confirm that I am well and with my family,” Bob Njagi said in a message. “It is now time to quiet the noise, be grateful for life, and for everyone to reflect on why Kenya matters. Every prayer and intervention made a difference.”

The joyous news extended to two other victims, Jamil Longton and his brother Aslam, who were discovered at the Gachie border between Kiambu and Nairobi counties. According to reports, their captors had dumped them in the area before their eventual recovery. Both brothers are safe, bringing further relief to their loved ones.

Odhiambo, a vocal leader and advocate for justice, has not hesitated to demand action. Through her leadership in the LSK, she has consistently called for accountability, urging the National Police Service (NPS) and other investigative agencies to take immediate steps in probing these abductions.

“We celebrate that these individuals have been returned safely to their families,” Odhiambo said. “However, this is a wake-up call for our security forces. The abduction of innocent Kenyans must be fully investigated, and those responsible must be brought to justice.”

Odhiambo’s call for accountability reflects the growing frustration among Kenyans over a perceived rise in abductions and unresolved disappearances. While many were relieved by today’s good news, questions remain about the effectiveness of national security and the need for preventive measures to protect citizens.

As families and friends of the victims take time to reflect and give thanks for the safe return of their loved ones, the broader public hopes this incident will prompt decisive action from the authorities. For now, the focus is on gratitude, faith, and a renewed hope for justice.
