AFD Country Director Ms. Anne-Gael Chapuis Leads Inspection Visit to Kigoro Water Treatment Plant

Athi Water Works Development Agency (AWWDA) CEO Eng. Joseph Kamau accompanied Ms. Anne-Gael Chapuis, the Country Director French Development Agency (AFD), on an inspection visit to the Kigoro Water Treatment Plant. This visit aimed to assess the plant’s operational capacity and the ongoing impact of its advanced technology in ensuring efficient water treatment and distribution to Nairobi residents.

They both reaffirmed their commitment to sustainable water and sanitation solutions, recognizing the crucial role of Kigoro Water Treatment Plant in addressing Nairobi’s growing water needs. The plant, built with cutting-edge technology, is a testament to the strong partnership between Kenya and France, reflecting shared priorities in ensuring access to clean, safe water.

Eng. Kamau acknowledged the critical support of AFD, stating, “This collaboration has been instrumental in advancing Nairobi’s water infrastructure, positioning Kigoro Water Treatment Plant as one of the most advanced facilities within the region.
