Nairobi City County Assembly football team has impressed in their last weekend match against City Inspectorate, managing 1-1 draw in a friendly clash at Dandora stadium.
Assembly football team is preparing for CASA games in Bungoma slated for 18th October to 27 October 2024.
In first half, the Assembly team struck getting one goal through Hon. Brian Ndavua Itenya.
The Assembly team stretched their dominance but were punished later with a goal from Inspectorate striker Joseph Gitau.
The friendly match was played at Dandora stadium attended by Cityhall bigwigs Majority Leader Peter Imwatok,Chief Officer Security and Compliance Tony Kimani and several MCAs and Assembly staff.
County Assembly Sports Association boss Peter who is also team’s striking force applauded members of his team for the effort and psychosocial preparedness ahead of CASA games.
“It was a good match and this is a good build up as we head to Bungoma County for CASA games. The level of discipline that has been portrayed by our team is overwhelming and we shall make this happen every month so that we also enhance our fitness. ” Hon. Peter Imwatok said.
The team manager Virginia Waitherero praised her side urging them to muscle up ahead of Bungoma CASA games.
“It was a good build up training and match as well we know that by next week we shall have a strong team that will take us to Bungoma and this time round we must bring back that trophy.” Virginia stated.
“We have a good team and am impressed with their game against the Inspectorate what I would like to encourage is consistent training and discipline within the team,” Assembly Team coach Sunguti added.
