Over one thousand citizens in Kirinyaga County were treated to a special celebration yesterday to mark Mashujaa Day, thanks to Together As One Microfinance and Comfort Homes, under the wise and skillful leadership of Managing Director and CEO Dr. Hezekiah Kariuki Mwangi.
Dr. Kariuki highlighted the importance of honoring the elderly, acknowledging them as heroes and heroines for their sacrifices in raising the younger generations. Reflecting on the occasion, he said:
“On this Mashujaa holiday, I had the privilege of spending time with the elderly at my rural home. Their lives and sacrifices are a reminder of the true meaning of heroism. We must always cherish and support them, as they remain the foundation of our community.”
In addition, Dr. Kariuki expressed his commitment to supporting the Kibingoti Technical and Vocational Polytechnic. He emphasized the need for leaders to invest in the Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) sector, stating:
“My passion for supporting Kibingoti Polytechnic stems from the belief that the TVET sector is crucial for economic growth. Even countries like China have thrived economically due to cottage industries. I encourage other leaders to embrace and invest in this sector.”
Dr. Kariuki has long been an advocate for youth training in TVET courses at the polytechnic and has consistently extended his generosity through contributions to support its programs. He urged young people to take advantage of the opportunities offered by TVET institutions and called on leaders to actively participate in equipping and facilitating these essential educational centers.
