EBK Hosts Training Workshop for Graduate Engineers’ Professional Registration
The Engineers Board of Kenya (EBK) has launched a week-long training workshop for participants of the Graduate Engineers Internship Program (GEIP) Cohort IV. The workshop aims to equip graduate engineers with the skills needed to prepare professional examination reports, a critical step toward professional registration.
Speaking during the opening ceremony, EBK Chairman Eng. Erastus K. Mwongera emphasized the significance of professional registration as a statutory obligation and a mark of accountability and excellence in engineering. “This workshop provides participants with the tools to prepare their registration documents and advance toward becoming Professional Engineers,” Eng. Mwongera stated.
Eng. Faith Mutuku, Manager of Registration and Licensing Services, encouraged participants to take full advantage of the training, which includes detailed guidelines and standardized templates to simplify the registration process. She reiterated EBK’s commitment to streamlining pathways to professional growth for engineers.
Eng. Benjamin Maingi lauded the attendees for their dedication, urging them to use the workshop to gain mentorship and improve their professional competencies. “This is a pivotal step in your personal and professional development,” he said.
The workshop is a testament to EBK’s dedication to fostering engineering excellence and ensuring that graduate engineers meet the highest professional standards. Supported by key partners, including the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure, the State Department of Roads, the Institution of Engineers of Kenya, and the Association of Consulting Engineers of Kenya (ACEK), the initiative underscores the Board’s commitment to building a robust engineering workforce in Kenya.
By investing in such training programs, EBK reinforces its role in preparing the next generation of engineers to address Kenya’s developmental and infrastructural needs
