ICT Cabinet Secretary Eliud Owalo convened a strategic meeting with the Kenya National Union of Teachers (KNUT) leadership to foster collaboration ahead of the Nyanza International Investment Conference (NIIC), scheduled for February 6–8, 2025.

The meeting, part of the final preparations for the landmark event, aimed to align expectations and build partnerships with key stakeholders. KNUT’s delegation was led by National Secretary General Collins Oyuu and National Chairman Patrick Karinga, alongside other officials. The NIIC Organizing Committee was represented by Chairman Japh Olende, Vice Chairman Michael Monari, and other prominent members.

CS Owalo expressed confidence in the progress of the conference preparations, highlighting its importance in driving economic growth in Nyanza. “The NIIC will showcase the region’s economic potential and attract transformative investment across key sectors,” he said.

The conference will spotlight investment opportunities in agriculture, manufacturing, education, ICT, and tourism, positioning Nyanza as a hub for innovation and development. The inclusion of education stakeholders like KNUT underscores the critical role of education in fostering the region’s economic transformation.

With only weeks to go, the NIIC Organizing Committee is finalizing preparations to ensure the success of this high-impact event.
