Nairobi County Assembly Health Committee Chairman Maurice Ochieng’ is now asking governor Johnson Sakaja’s administration together with other authorities to move with speed and stop the Shisha business that has infiltrated the city risking the life of Nairobians.

Maurice says Shisha smoking has widely spread in Kilimani,South C and Eastlands estates.

He warned that the drug causes cancerous cells in the body hence poses health risk to those consuming it.

“The County Government through CEC Health Madam Silantoi must come out and fight this vice. Our youths are endangered and the same must be done promptly. Its not just a concern but health hazard that need quick intervention. Shisha is dangerous as its causes cancerous cells in the body.” Said Maurice.

He has however, blamed the Tobacco Control Unit at City Hall for being ineffective.

“Yes yes we have Tobacco Control Unit but the department is dead. They are not doing anything.” Maurice added.
