Moët & Chandon Returns as the Official Champagne of Formula 1
A Legacy of Celebration Reunites with Motorsport’s Greatest Stage
As Formula 1 and LVMH embark on a groundbreaking decade-long partnership, Moët & Chandon proudly returns as the Official Champagne of Formula 1. With over 280 years of champagne-making excellence, the Maison has been at the heart of motorsport’s most iconic celebrations—marking moments of victory, unity, and pure emotion.
From the legendary champions of the past to the podium stars of today, Moët & Chandon has long been a symbol of triumph in Formula 1. Since 1950, its signature champagne sprays have graced the victories of legends such as Sir Jackie Stewart, Ayrton Senna, Niki Lauda, Alain Prost, Mika Häkkinen, and Michael Schumacher. Now, as Formula 1 celebrates a milestone anniversary, Moët & Chandon returns to the podium, ready to create new moments of joy and exhilaration.
The Official Podium Champagne & Title Partner of the Belgian Grand Prix 2025
The podium celebrations will once again come to life with Moët & Chandon, as the top three drivers and the winning Constructor toast their success with the Maison’s finest champagne. The brand will also take center stage as the Title Partner of the FORMULA 1 MOËT & CHANDON BELGIAN GRAND PRIX 2025, a race deeply intertwined with the history of both Formula 1 and the Maison.
A Special Bond with Spa-Francorchamps
The Belgian Grand Prix at Spa-Francorchamps is more than just a race—it is a historic event closely linked to Moët & Chandon. Located near the Champagne region, Spa represents a homecoming for the Maison. Known for its legendary corners, unpredictable weather, and breathtaking scenery, it remains a favorite circuit among drivers and fans alike.
The bond between Moët & Chandon and Formula 1 traces back to 1950, when Juan Manuel Fangio secured victory at Spa-Francorchamps before winning again at the French Grand Prix in Champagne. In a symbolic moment of shared celebration, Paul Chandon-Moët and his cousin, Count Frédéric Chandon de Briailles, toasted Fangio’s triumph at the Château de Saran, cementing the Maison’s deep-rooted connection to motorsport.
A Tradition of Collective Emotion & Innovation
Moët & Chandon’s history in motorsport began in 1936, when Tazio Nuvolari famously sipped from a Jeroboam of Moët & Chandon after winning The Vanderbilt Cup. However, the now-iconic champagne spray tradition was born in 1967 when Dan Gurney, in a moment of pure elation, shook his Jeroboam of Moët & Chandon after winning the 24 Hours of Le Mans, unknowingly setting a precedent for sports celebrations worldwide.
From the Golden Magnum trophy in 1977 to the signed Jeroboams by racing greats between 1991 and 1997, Moët & Chandon’s presence in Formula 1 has been synonymous with innovation, camaraderie, and shared victories.
A Tribute to Unity and Excellence
This reunion goes beyond podium celebrations—it is a tribute to the collective spirit that drives Formula 1. The drivers, teams, and millions of passionate fans who fuel the sport’s energy and excitement will once again raise a toast with Moët & Chandon.
Sibylle Scherer, CEO & President of Moët & Chandon, shared:
“We are honored to return as the Official Champagne of Formula 1, celebrating a legacy of shared triumph since the 1950s. This partnership is a tribute to the extraordinary teamwork, precision, and pursuit of excellence that define both motorsport and our craft. As Moët & Chandon takes its place on the podium once again, we continue to create moments of celebration that unite and inspire.”
Stefano Domenicali, President & CEO of Formula 1, added:
