Othaya, Kenya – Hon. Wambugu Wainaina, MP for Othaya, has disbursed Ksh. 4,075,000 in bursaries to support students in Mahiga and Karima wards, reaffirming his commitment to making education accessible and affordable.
Under his ‘Masomo Bora’ program, each day secondary school student receives Ksh. 8,000, reducing the financial burden on families, with parents contributing only Ksh. 1,000 per term. This initiative aims to cut dropout rates and ensure uninterrupted learning.
Speaking at Munyange Day Secondary School, Hon. Wambugu emphasized education’s transformative power and urged parents to support their children’s studies.
“No child should miss school due to lack of fees. Education is the key to equality and opportunity,” he stated.
The bursary disbursement marks a major investment in Othaya’s youth, strengthening academic excellence and empowering future generations. Parents and teachers have praised the program as a lifeline for struggling families, ensuring every child has a fair chance to succeed.
