Superior Homes Foundation, in partnership with Lake Elementaita Mountain Lodge, has reaffirmed its commitment to keeping girls in school through its monthly menstrual health drive. This weekend, the Foundation visited Thugunui Secondary School in Nakuru County, one of six supported schools in the Elementaita region, to donate sanitary pads and provide mentorship sessions for students.
The initiative aims to reduce absenteeism and ensure that girls complete their studies without disruption. Mr. Mahinda Maina, Principal of Thugunui Secondary, praised the program, stating, “These donations have helped reduce absenteeism among girls and have played a key role in ensuring they complete their education.”
During the visit, the team donated over 200 packets of sanitary pads, supporting the students for the next three months. Additionally, mentorship sessions focused on academic success, personal growth, and career development, equipping students with the confidence and resources needed to thrive.
Patrick Njoroge, General Manager of Lake Elementaita Mountain Lodge, emphasized the impact of the initiative:
“By donating feminine hygiene products, we ensure that girls stay in school throughout the year while maintaining their dignity. As stakeholders, we are committed to supporting the prosperity of our community.”
Currently, Superior Homes Foundation supports 10,109 girls across 34 schools in Kenya, providing monthly sanitary pad restocking and mentorship programs. The Foundation remains committed to expanding its reach, strengthening partnerships, and ensuring menstrual health is never a barrier to education
