Empowering Recruitment Partners in Africa

The workshop aimed to strengthen SGU’s collaboration with recruitment agents in Africa, equipping them with the necessary tools to guide prospective students through the application process and provide essential insights into SGU’s Doctor of Medicine (MD) program. This includes pathways for students to practice medicine in the US or UK.

David Anthonisz, Executive Director of International Student Recruitment at SGU, emphasized the importance of these partnerships:
“This workshop underscores our dedication to international collaboration. Ensuring that our recruitment partners are well-equipped with in-depth knowledge of SGU’s programs helps them better support aspiring medical students in Africa and beyond.”

Beyond fostering stronger relationships, the event provided a platform for agents and school counselors to discuss students’ career aspirations, gain deeper insights into SGU, understand MD program specifics, and explore the admissions process.

Lucious Gab-Umoden, Chief Executive of LuGold EDC, highlighted the impact of the workshop:
“This experience has been invaluable in deepening my understanding of SGU’s offerings. With the knowledge gained, I am better prepared to guide aspiring medical students toward a successful academic and professional future.”

By engaging directly with key education stakeholders, SGU continues to expand opportunities for African students, ensuring they receive the guidance and support needed to pursue a world-class medical education.
