Wilson Muthaura, Group CEO of KTDA Holdings, has hailed the crucial contributions of women in the tea industry, marking International Women’s Day 2025 with a call for greater recognition and empowerment.
With women making up 60% of the tea sector’s workforce, Muthaura emphasized their indispensable role in sustaining Kenya’s leading agricultural export.
“The backbone of the tea industry is built on the strength and perseverance of women,” he noted, advocating for better working conditions, leadership opportunities, and economic inclusion.
Under his leadership, KTDA Holdings is championing gender equity initiatives to uplift women across the tea value chain. Muthaura urged all stakeholders to invest in women’s empowerment, highlighting it as key to sustainable growth and economic prosperity.
