MSEA Partners to Enhance Cold Storage for Small-Scale Farmers

By John Kariuki
The Micro and Small Enterprises Authority (MSEA) has partnered with Kenya Development Corporation (KDC), House of Procurement, and Africa Mega Agricorp to improve cold storage infrastructure for small-scale farmers.
The agreement, signed by MSEA CEO Henry Rithaa, aims to reduce post-harvest losses and enhance market access through new cold storage facilities in Meru, Nyandarua, and Kisii Counties.
KDC Director General Norah Ratemo and House of Procurement GM David Wayiera emphasized that efficient supply chains and digital market linkages will ensure farmers benefit from improved storage and distribution.
The initiative will boost farmer incomes, improve food security, and modernize agriculture by providing better preservation and competitive pricing for produce.
