Correctional Services Principal Secretary Dr. Salome Beacco has emphasized the crucial role of probation officers in ensuring effective rehabilitation and reintegration of offenders.
Speaking during a meeting with directors from the Probation and Aftercare Service, Dr. Beacco stressed the importance of social inquiries in shaping supervision and reintegration programs. She urged officers to focus on impactful community services, particularly initiatives targeting school-going children.
The PS also called on officers to align with the government’s service delivery agenda and actively participate in tree-planting efforts to help achieve the national target of 15 billion trees by 2032, as championed by President William Ruto.
Dr. Beacco was accompanied by Probation and Aftercare Service Secretary Dr. Christine Obondi.
