Murang’a, Kenya – Nominated Senator Veronica Maina reaffirmed her commitment to women’s economic empowerment during a visit to the Nyakinyua ya Kamaru Group in Kaharati, Kigumo Subcounty. The group, comprising over 300 women, showcased handcrafted baskets, sisal mats, beadwork, and wool creations, highlighting their entrepreneurial skills.
Senator Maina praised their craftsmanship and urged for greater investment in women-led enterprises. “These women are driving economic change. We must support and recognize their work,” she stated.
She emphasized policies that enhance financial inclusivity and gender equality, reinforcing her role as a champion for grassroots entrepreneurship. Her visit strengthened efforts to boost women’s economic participation in Murang’a and beyond.
